Based on advanced fast-curing resin technology, Degafloor Degaset Mortar and Screed solution has been developed as a low-cost repair mortar and underlay screed. The unique formulation allows slump-free placement. The consistency enables the product to be shaped to create ramps and falls. It can complete the most complex of repairs.

Concrete and screed are mainly made from similar materials (cement, aggregates and water). However, screed is a finer solution than commonly used as a finishing layer on internal floors, or to level the floor before final floor coverings like carpet, tiles, natural stone, linoleum, wood flooring and resin coatings.

The Degaset Mortar and Screed solution can be bulked out with a range of natural quartz sizes to enable application from depths of 5 to 50mm in a single layer. It can also be pigmented to create a lightly textured surface that can be sealed to enhance the finish and maximise performance.

Substrate preparation

All substrates must be clean, dry and free from contamination. This includes dust, dirt, oil, laitance, curing compounds and other contaminants.

The substrate should be capable of accepting a resin finish and this is best achieved by mechanical means (shot blasting, planning or diamond grinding). However, this may not always be possible due to the size and shape of the area to be repaired.

If surface preparation is not practical, complete a bond test to check whether strong adhesion can be achieved.

The substrate should be primed using Degafloor 112 primer applied at approx. 0.4 kg per square metre.

When priming ensure any edges are also primed.

Chemical Resistance

Excellent chemical resistance to acids, oils, alkalines, salts, cleaning agents and foodstuffs.

Cure Times

Degafloor Degaset Mortar and Screed solution cures fully within just 1 hour of installation (both chemically and physically). The cure time remains unaffected at temperatures down to 5°C.

Available pack sizes

Degaset Mortar and screed solution is created by mixing a 1.2 kg unit of resin with a 15 kg bag of filler, activator and additives.

• DegasetTM filler – available in 15 kg bags

Bulking out

It is possible to add aggregates of varying sizes to bulk out Degaset Mortar and Screed solutions to make it even more cost-effective. Please contact our Technical Services Team for further information.
